I actually went to the Grammys! How great is that?! I have met some wonderful people in L.A., and it looks like I will be a frequent vistor...On business of course! Stay Tuned!

Happy Birthday Aaliyah

I know I am late with the Aaliyah post (Her birthday was Saturday, January 16th), but I HAVE to acknowledge the woman who changed my life, musically and just being an all around good person. Aaliyah would have been 31 years old this year, and I am so happy to see that her music is still alive an living throughout all of us. It warmed my heart to see the outpour of love and support via Twitter, Facebook, and Myspace. Her brother Rashad, responded to all that he could on Twitter (Follow him twitter.com/Rad_6), and shared that his family still misses her, and is honored by the fans loyal support. There was no denying that Aaliyah was talented and beautiful, but you can tell that beyond all of her mystique there was a heart of gold. I LOVED that we didn't KNOW much about her, but it was ENOUGH to keep us interested. She had an infectious personality that, even all of the years she has been gone, still resonates with us. Musically always ahead of the pack, she made music that was ground-breaking and also timeless without being trendy, or being corny. She has a flawless catalog, and that is what we have left from her. A musical legacy that cannot be touched! R.I.P. Babygirl!

"Fantasia For Real"

Last night, Fantasia premiered her show, "Fantasia For Real" on VH1. I thoroughly enjoyed the show, despite the North Carolina dialect and misuse of the English language, I think it will be something I can watch for entertainment purposes. I do like the fact that Fantasia has always been transparent about her life, so this is an extra glance into her life as an artist, mother, and sole bread-winner in her household of six. In case u missed it, watch the show below...VH1 TV Shows | Music Videos | Celebrity Photos | News & Gossip

Michelle Williams Leaves Mathew Knowles

It looks like Michelle Williams of Destiny's Child, has finally come to her senses, and is leaving Mathew Knowles Music World imprint. All I have to say is, it's about dang-on time! This was LONG overdue! Especially after the way her last project was handled. Here is the official statement...

“After much prayer and consideration I have decided to part ways from my management team, Mathew Knowles and Music World Entertainment. From my time in Destiny’s Child to my solo career, I am grateful for everything Mathew and his team has done for me. We’ve shared great success together. However, as I move in a new direction in my career, I felt it was time. I wish Mathew Knowles and the Music World Entertainment family all the best.

What Is "American Idol" Without Simon Cowell?

Looks like after this new season of "American Idol" is over, Simon Cowell will no longer be apart of the #1 rated FOX show.

By LYNN ELBER, AP Television Writer Mon Jan 11, 12:56 PM PST

Simon Cowell, the acerbic Brit who has helped give "American Idol" some of its sharpest — and nastiest — moments, will leave the popular singing show after this season.

The cantankerous judge said that "The X Factor," a show he created and is a hit in Britain, will join Fox's schedule next year. Cowell will be on "The X Factor."

Cowell's decision is the biggest threat yet to what has been the country's most popular TV program and a true cultural force. This season, original host Paula Abdul has been replaced by Ellen DeGeneres.

But Cowell, with his caustic commentary, has long been seen as the big star of "Idol."

He said it would have been difficult for him to do both shows. While he makes a reported $36 million a year to be on "American Idol," he owns "The X Factor" and could make much more if the show takes off.

Cowell and top Fox executives made the announcement to reporters in Pasadena at a meeting of the Television Critics Association, saying they had reached an agreement only a few hours before.

"I was offered a lot of money to stay on," Cowell said. "But that wasn't the reason behind it. I wanted to do something different. I wanted a new challenge."

Peter Price, chairman of the Fox Broadcasting Co., would not speculate on possible replacements for Cowell.

"We have to take our time on that," Price said. "We have to make sure the chemistry of the judges is as good as it can be."

Cowell said he didn't want to leave "American Idol" at a time when it was fading in the ratings.

"You want to leave on a high," he said. "I'm very proud of what the show has achieved."
I don't really watch the show like that, but I will say he was one of the main reasons I DID tune in. I'm kind of excited to see what "X Factor" will do over here in the states, since it has such a HUGE audience abroad. I can't hate on Simon, "Idol" is on it's last leg anyway.

Introducing Ke$ha: Thoughts?!

I don't know if I like her or not, yet. She seems a little "Homegrown"...not really polished at all, which I can appreciate, but she's a pop star...no glam whatsoever. I guess I do like that about her. It's something new...but even P!nk was a little "Grimy" when she came out, but at least P!nk had PIPES for days! Ke$ha's singing voice is almost non-existent. She talk-sings on almost EVERY song. Her song "Tik Tok" is the #1 song on Itunes and Billboard hot 100 charts. It's a nice little song, but how far will she go? Only time will tell...Thoughts?!

Keyshia Cole Cuts Her Family Off...Hmmmm

Keyshia Cole has found happiness and decided to cut off her family...the same family who SHE helped get themselves together, which eventually turned into a hit show on BET.
Anyway, here is her statement...

“To all my friends and fans,

It’s time that I clear the air. It’s not a secret that I haven’t been in contact with my mother Frankie, and my sisters Neffe and Elite and I never wanted to air out our differences to the public. While I won’t go into detail here I find it necessary to let you guys know I decided to stop communication with them because I was at a point in my life where I needed serenity and peace to move forward. Please know I love my family very much but it was time to let it go. You guys are a witness to a lot of what was happening from watching on air and online. Now that I am becoming a mom my passion for having a loving and peaceful home for my child is my #1 priority. It’s very important to both Daniel and I. My plate is very full; I have a new baby coming, we are planning our wedding and I am working in the studio on a new album that I am close to completing. The stress that my family is giving me with their constant false reports is not healthy and it’s not what I need at this time in my life. Please understand that there are only a few people that can officially confirm or deny anything that’s happening in my life and that’s me, Daniel, and my publicist, Tresa Sanders. And my girl Monica never lies.”

Love Your Girl,

KC

Keyshia, who is now pregnant, and ENGAGED to NBA baller, Daniel Gibson, has moved on with her life without the help of her family. She packed up and moved from Atlanta to Cleveland, to enjoy her "Happiness". I don't think she should have severed ties from her family, because honestly, she was just another R&B chick before they came on the show. She BLEW up after that. SHE NEEDS THEM JUST AS MUCH AS THEY NEED HER! NOBODY watched her show for her, it was for Frankie and Neffie! I hope they come to some resolve, because even though Keyshia's happy with her man and all, there is nothing like Family!
